Adult Developmental homes provide a great opportunity for both the family that welcomes someone into their home and for the consumer that gets to live there. Similar to a foster care situation, this is a program where a family can go through the licensing process and have up to three people with developmental disabilities living in their family home. This is a big committment, and a long process, but the result is a chance for the consumers who live there to enjoy a more typical family living experience, along with the consistency and stability that helps produce growth for us as humans.
